However, it’s important to remember that CANSLIM is a high-risk strategy. You will experience losses along the way. But if you are patient and disciplined, the rewards can be great.
Stocks that are CANSLIM candidates show the following attributes:
1. Current quarterly earnings growth of at least 25%
2. Annual earnings growth of 20% or more over the last three years
3. A market cap of at least $1 billion
4. A strong history of share price performance
5. Good liquidity, with average daily trading volume of at least 500,000 shares
6. A positive earnings surprise in the most recent quarter
7. Institutional ownership of at least 10%
8. An industry that is in a long-term up-trend
9. A chart that shows a clear buying opportunity.
10.A sound business model with a proven track record
11. A management team with a good reputation
12. A share price that is trading near its 52-week high

Unfortunately, the IBD Swing Trader strategy has seen mixed results. In 2019, the service had a gain of just 2.29%.
However, in 2020 it managed to have a massive year with a return of over 40%.
One of the things we like about IBD Swing Trader is that they provide clear and concise trade alerts. Each alert includes the entry price, stop loss, and target price.
We also appreciate that IBD Swing Trader attempts to provide some context with each trade idea.
Each alert includes a brief write-up explaining the strategy behind the trade.
Overall, we think IBD Swing Trader is a decent swing trading service. It’s not our top pick, but it could be a good fit for some investors.
