What is Online Trading Academy?
OTA is a membership-based organization offering educational opportunities in the field of trading. The company was founded in 1997 by Eyal Shahar, and today operates out of more than 40 locations across the globe.
The company has two main offerings: instruction on how to trade stocks, forex, and options, as well as providing software to its members that assists with trading decisions.
OTA’s courses range from introductory level classes on investing to more advanced training on specific trading strategies.
The vast majority of the company’s students are individuals who are looking to make trading a career, although OTA does offer some courses geared towards investors who want to learn more about how to trade for themselves.
In addition to its educational offerings, Online Trading Academy also provides access to specialized software, which it calls the “TradeStation” platform.
This software is designed to help traders make more informed decisions about when to buy and sell stocks, forex, and options contracts.
Who is Eyal Shahar Founder of Online Trading Academy?
Eyal Shahar is the founder and CEO of Online Trading Academy. He started the company in 1997 with the goal of providing educational opportunities to those interested in the field of trading.

Online Trading Academy Review: Trading Style
We believe that the Online Trading Academy is more concerned with technical analysis than fundamental analysis. The instructors here appear to be interested in educating you on classic patterns and market indicators.
OTA does a great job of breaking down complex concepts so that anyone can understand them. The courses we took were very well organized and easy to follow.
The instructors did a good job of keeping things interesting, and we never felt like we were being lectured at.
We also appreciate that the Online Trading Academy makes its courses available online, so you can take them at your own pace.
One thing we didn’t like about the Online Trading Academy is that it seems geared towards people who want to make a career out of trading.

Who Is Best Suited For Online Trading Academy?
Another wonderful advantage of this platform is that it is open to a wide range of trading strategies. Intra-day scalping, for example, is a strategy that is not always welcomed by brokers but OTA will give you the tools you need to scalp successfully.
This is a type of trading where quick decisions need to be made and executed and OTA will give you the education you need to make these decisions confidently.
The Online Trading Academy is also a great choice for those who are looking to take their trading to the next level.
The courses offered here are more advanced than what you would find at most brokers, and the TradeStation platform is a great tool for active traders.

What About the Controversies?
OTA has been the subject of some controversy over the years. In 2007, the company was hit with a class-action lawsuit that accused it of making false claims about its courses and software. The suit was eventually settled out of court.

Online Trading Academy Federal Trade Commission
In 2010, the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) filed a complaint against OTA, alleging that the company used false and misleading claims to lure customers into signing up for its courses. The case was settled in 2011, with OTA agreeing to pay $5 million in refunds to customers.
In 2010, OTA was again in the news when one of its students, James Marquez, was arrested for allegedly running a Ponzi scheme that bilked investors out of $30 million. Marquez had attended OTA’s classes and used the TradeStation software to make trades for his victims (allegedly!).
Despite these controversies, Online Trading Academy continues to operate and is currently owned by Investview (OTC: INVU).

Online Trading Academy is a membership-based organization that offers courses on how to trade stocks, forex, and options.
The Online Trading Academy curriculum appears to be a decent deal, but the high costs make it less appealing to new traders on a budget.
The company also provides access to specialized software that assists with trading decisions. OTA has been the subject of some controversy over the years, but continues to operate today.
