Who is The Founder of Weiss Ratings?
Martin D. Weiss, Ph.D. is the founder of Weiss Ratings. He started the company in 1971 and has a Ph.D. in economics from UCLA.
Dr. Martin Weiss, a consumer advocate and financial expert, created the company in 1971 and currently has over 500,000 subscribers, making it one of the most widely read investment newsletters in the world.
He began his career in the 1980s by ranking firms and investments according to how lucrative they were expected to be.
Forbes Magazine dubbed him “Mr Independence” when he started rating banks back in his career, referring to his accuracy.
The Government Accountability Office found that he was more successful than the best ratings agencies. He eventually became a firm that rated banks, insurance organizations, stocks, credit unions, mutual funds, and exchange-traded funds (ETFs).

Weiss Ratings Stock Newsletters
In addition to ratings, Weiss Ratings provides research and analysis on stocks, mutual funds, ETFs, insurance, banking, and credit cards.
Weiss Ratings is one of the few financial rating agencies that does not accept compensation from the companies it rates.
This means that their ratings are not biased by any outside influences.
The company uses a proprietary methodology to rate companies, which they refer to as the “Weiss Ratings Model.”
The Weiss Ratings Model looks at a variety of factors in order to arrive at a rating.
These factors include financial strength, stability, growth prospects, and price performance.
Weiss Ratings is accredited by the Better Business Bureau (BBB) and has an A+ rating.
The company has been in business for over 45 years and has a solid reputation in the industry.

Weiss Ratings Review – Are They Legit? Investment Newsletters
There are a lot of investment newsletters out there, and it can be tough to know which ones to trust.
Weiss Ratings is one of the most well-known and respected names in the business, and their ratings are based on a proprietary model that looks at a variety of factors.
Weiss Ratings is a firm that provides research and analysis on cryptocurrencies, as well as other blockchain-related topics. Weiss Crypto Investor, Wealth Megatrends, Safe Money Report, Weekend Windfalls are some of the most popular services.
Weiss Ratings offers several free resources, including Weiss Rankings Daily and Weiss Cryptocurrency Daily.
They have The Weiss Investor podcast by Kenny Polcari where he interviews the financial experts at Weiss.
For a closer look at Weiss Ratings, check out their website. You can also read our other reviews of investment newsletters to get more information on which ones might be right for you.
Here is a snapshot from inside my Weiss Ratings Dashboard that shows the different subscriptions they offer.
Weiss Ratings Review – Are They Legit? Cost
One of the most common complaints about Weiss Ratings is their lack of transparency regarding the actual expenses of their services.
In many situations, particularly for their newsletters, they make it clear what the cost of membership will be. For example, the Weiss Crypto Investor Premium subscription is $59 per year, or $39 per year for the basic version.
However, if you go to their website and are interested in their premium investment services, prices will not be displayed.
You can only subscribe by calling a representative if you visit their website. It’s also worth noting that all of their membership subscriptions are set to renew automatically every year.
It’s important to be aware of this so you’re not caught off guard by an unexpected charge on your credit card.

Weiss Ratings Review – Are They Legit? Conclusions
Overall, we believe that Weiss Ratings is a legitimate company that provides valuable research and analysis to its clients.
If you’re looking for an unbiased opinion on a particular investment, Weiss Ratings is definitely worth considering.
I also think Weiss Ratings Crypto Investor is legit and I’m keen to explore these programs further.
Stocks in the technology sector and bitcoin have been on a tear over the last year, with Bitcoin shattering price records at an incredible pace. Many believe that it has to do with the faith that major fund investors have in it and other major cryptos.
However, few individuals are familiar with the De-Fi (Decentralized Finance) phenomenon that Weiss Crypto is starting to get into. Here is one of my favorite courses in crypto (Full Crypto Swap Profits Review here).
