What are Apex Funded Futures Accounts?
Apex Funded Futures Accounts are becoming increasingly popular among traders who want to access the financial markets and grow their trading careers without risking their own capital.
These accounts are offered by trading firms that provide traders with a fully-funded trading account, usually ranging from $50,000 to $250,000, depending on the firm. This means that traders can trade with real money and keep a portion of their profits, depending on the firm’s profit sharing model.
Traders can start with a simulated account and once they have demonstrated consistent profitability and have met certain trading requirements, they may be eligible to receive a funded account. The amount of funding is determined based on the trader’s trading performance and can range from $25,000 to $250,000.
Traders are required to pay a monthly subscription fee and a performance-based profit share to Apex, which varies depending on the funding level. The profit share is a percentage of the profits earned by the trader using the funded account.
The Apex Performance Account program is designed to provide traders with a way to access capital and grow their trading account without having to risk their own money. However, traders must meet certain performance and risk management requirements to be eligible for the program and to maintain their funding level.

Funded Accounts are ONLY for Futures Trading?
Funded accounts are not always limited to futures trading, but they are popular in the futures trading market for several reasons:
- High liquidity: Futures markets are highly liquid, with high trading volumes and tight bid-ask spreads. This makes it easier for traders to enter and exit positions quickly, and to manage risk effectively.
- Leverage: Futures contracts offer high leverage, meaning traders can control a large notional value of the underlying asset with a relatively small amount of margin. This can amplify potential profits, but also increases the risk of losses.
- Diversification: Futures contracts cover a wide range of asset classes, including commodities, currencies, and financial instruments like stock indexes and interest rates. This allows traders to diversify their portfolio and spread risk across different markets.
- Transparency: Futures markets are highly regulated and offer transparency in terms of price discovery and trading activity. This allows traders to make informed decisions based on real-time market data.
Overall, while funded accounts are not limited to futures trading, futures markets offer certain advantages that make them popular among traders looking to trade with leverage and diversify their portfolio.
Apex only allows for funded futures accounts.

Apex Funded Futures Account: Evaluation Account
The process of qualifying for an Apex Funded Futures Account is typically rigorous and involves a thorough evaluation of the trader’s trading history, risk management skills, and overall performance.
The evaluation process may vary from one firm to another, but traders must generally demonstrate their ability to trade successfully in a demo or simulated trading account. Some firms may require traders to have a certain level of experience or training in trading.
Usually, there is a profit target and trailing drawdown that must be adhered to in order for the trader to get access to a real funded account.
You can see some of the typical account sizes, profit targets and trailing drawdowns below.
Apex Funded Futures Accounts has a unique profit target and trailing drawdown system that helps traders manage risk and maximize profits. Here is how it works:
Profit Target: Apex sets a profit target for each account based on the account size and funding level. This means that traders are required to achieve a certain profit target before they can withdraw any profits from their account.
For example, a trader with a $100,000 eval account may have a profit target of $6,000. Once the trader reaches this profit target, they are eligible to withdraw their profits or continue trading with the a ‘real’ funded account if they are just starting on the eval account.
Trailing Drawdown: Apex also has a trailing drawdown system that monitors a trader’s performance in real-time. If a trader’s account balance falls below a certain drawdown level, Apex may reduce the trader’s funding level or close the account. The drawdown level varies based on the account size and funding level. For example, a trader with a $100,000 account funding level may have a drawdown level of $3,000. If the trader’s account balance falls below $97,000, their account may be closed.
Overall, the profit target and trailing drawdown system used by Apex Funded Futures Accounts helps traders manage risk and stay disciplined in their trading.
By setting a profit target and monitoring drawdown levels, traders are incentivized to focus on risk management and to take profits when they are available. This can help traders build a consistent track record of profitable trading and potentially earn higher funding levels in the future.
These particular rules can be difficult to follow and understand. Luckily, Apex has a lot of material on their website about all this kind of stuff.

Futures Trading Strategies I Used to Get Funded
I used two alerts services that alert day trades (you can’t swing trade with APEX!) on $SPY to pass my evaluation account with APEX.
I used the signals from these services to trade /ES as obviously this is highly correlated with $SPY.
For example, if the alert from the trading guru said ‘buying $SPY call contracts here’ I would buy /ES instead.
I used two different alerts services to do this.
- Market Navigator by Jeff Williams at Raging Bull.
- Goldman SPX scalp trades at SideKickTraders.
I have written a review of Jeff Williams Market Navigator service here.
He basically just alerts a single SPY day trade every day that lasts for a couple of hours.
This makes it well suited for trading /ES instead in my Apex account. He has a fantastic win-rate of about 80%. A single trade a day like this can really help to make money on the futures trades.

I also run a discord server where we focus on SPX options trades.
The main guy alerting these trades on SPX has a 90% win-rate and these are fast trades. Typically, we are only in these for minutes – which makes them quite well-suited for APEX trading /ES instead of SPX.

Here is an example video of what I’ve been doing to get a funded Apex account.
Integration with Ninja Trader
NinjaTrader is a popular trading platform that provides advanced charting and technical analysis tools, as well as the ability to execute trades in real-time. It is commonly used by futures traders and is known for its ease of use and flexibility.
NinjaTrader has integrated with the Apex Funded Futures Account program, allowing traders to trade futures contracts on the NinjaTrader platform while using the funding provided by Apex. This integration allows traders to access the benefits of the Apex Funded Futures Account program while using the advanced trading tools and features of the NinjaTrader platform.
Traders can use NinjaTrader to view real-time market data, create and backtest trading strategies, and execute trades directly from the platform. The integration with Apex means that traders can also manage their funded account and track their performance using the Apex online portal.
In addition, the integration with Apex provides traders with access to a variety of other features, including risk management tools, automated trade alerts, and personalized coaching and support.
Overall, the integration between NinjaTrader and the Apex Funded Futures Account program provides traders with a powerful combination of trading tools and funding options, making it a popular choice for futures traders looking to grow their trading account.

Apex Funded Futures: The Problems
he main argument against using the Apex Funded Futures Account program is that it involves a performance-based profit share, which means that traders are required to share a portion of their profits with Apex.
While this profit share can be a way for traders to access capital and grow their trading account without having to risk their own money, it also means that traders must achieve a certain level of profitability in order to make the program worthwhile.
Additionally, the program has strict trading requirements and risk management guidelines that traders must adhere to in order to maintain their funding level. This can limit a trader’s flexibility and potentially stifle their trading strategy.
Furthermore, traders may find the monthly subscription fee and profit share to be a significant expense, especially if they are just starting out and have not yet achieved consistent profitability.
Ultimately, whether or not to use the Apex Funded Futures Account program is a decision that depends on the trader’s individual circumstances, trading goals, and risk tolerance. It’s important for traders to carefully consider the program’s costs, requirements, and potential benefits before deciding whether or not to participate.

Apex Funded Futures Review: Conclusions
Overall, Apex Funded Futures Accounts provide traders with a unique opportunity to access the financial markets, trade with real money, and earn a portion of their profits.
I tried Apex and found it be a lot of fun and I was able to pass my eval account relatively easily. I would wait until they have a big discount sale though – I got 80% OFF which turns a $100 per month subscription into a much better $20 per month!
However, traders need to have a proven track record of success and a disciplined approach to trading to be successful in these accounts.
With the right mindset and approach, Apex Funded Futures Accounts can be a valuable tool for traders looking to take their skills to the next level and achieve financial success in the markets.
I hope you found this Apex Funded Futures Review helpful.
