FlowAlgo Review: Why It’s Useful
Investors often buy and sell options contracts to take advantage of changes in the underlying asset’s price.
Options provide traders with the flexibility to speculate on the direction of an underlying security, without having to take ownership of the asset.
When buying or selling options, it’s important to be aware of the order flow.
The order flow is the net buying or selling pressure of a particular security.
In other words, it’s the difference between the number of buy orders and sell orders.
The order flow can give you insight into what other traders are thinking.
If there is more buying pressure than selling pressure, it’s likely that the price will go up.
Conversely, if there is more selling pressure than buying pressure, the price is likely to go down.
A flow order scanner like FlowAlgo can help you track the order flow of options contracts.
FlowAlgo’s platform includes a real-time options flow scanner, dark pool monitoring, historical data, a chat feed, and more.
In this FlowAlgo review, we’ll take a look at all the features that this platform has to offer.
FlowAlgo Review: Scanner
FlowAlgo’s options flow scanner is powered by LiveVol, a provider of real-time market data and trading analytics.
The scanner shows you the top 20 most active options contracts, as well as the net buying or selling pressure for each contract.
You can use the filters to narrow down the list of contracts by underlying asset, exchange, expiration date, and more.

FlowAlgo Review: Dark Pool Monitor
The dark pool monitor lets you see how much volume is being traded in dark pools.
Dark pools are private exchanges where large institutional investors trade without revealing their hand to the market.
This information can be useful in spotting potential big moves before they happen.
FlowAlgo Review: Chat Feed
FlowAlgo’s platform also includes a chat feed, where you can share ideas and trade ideas with other FlowAlgo users.
FlowAlgo Review: Radar
FlowAlgo’s Radar feed gives you a different view of aggregated block and dark pool trades.
You can see the total value of trades for a particular ticker in this stream.
The proportion of trading volume each day is graded, and days when trading volume was more than 25% above average are highlighted.

FlowAlgo Review: Historical Data
You can also access historical data on the order flow for specific securities.
This data is handy for backtesting trading strategies or identifying potential turning points in the market.
Both the Historical and Real-Time Option Order Flow Data and Dark Pool Order Data are accessible through ritchAlgo.
Historical order flow data, as well as dark pool order data going back several months, is available. This data display looks exactly like the real-time option flow and dark pool order displays, so you can quickly identify unusual out of the money options or big sweeps.
You can choose a certain date range and ticker for your search, making this a useful research tool.

FlowAlgo Review: How is it Different?
The Breakthrough Order Flow Scanner is one of many choices of order flow scanners, but it differs in a few key ways.
The real-time options order flow feed is supposed to be actionable. Options trades that merit your attention are highlighted, and you can quickly determine which tickers have the most option trading activity on any given day.
Another feature that sets FlowAlgo apart from other scanners is its use of equity block trades and dark pool order data.
This data is utilized by the Levels module in FlowAlgo to help you identify potential support and resistance levels as well as price levels at which institutional investors are buying and selling.
