Who is JC Parets?
Growing up in Miami as a Cuban kid, JC Parts played a lot of baseball. Even better, he was able to throw a few innings at the NCAA Division 1 level.
After obtaining his bachelor’s degree in finance from Fairfield University, he started paying down his debts.
Until 2006, when he moved into Manhattan, he spent 15 years total in New York City and the surrounding areas. Until recently, he resided in Fairfield and Hoboken, New Jersey before settling down in beautiful Sonoma Valley, California.
JC Parets is the founder and president of All Star Charts, a technical analysis and research firm based in Tampa, Florida. He is also a contributing editor to Futures magazine and the author of The All Star Charts Trading Course.
Parets began his career in the financial industry in 1992 as a stockbroker with Prudential Securities. He later transitioned to becoming a futures and options trader before starting All Star Charts in 2000.
Parets is a popular speaker at financial conferences and has been featured in numerous media outlets, including CNBC, Bloomberg, and The Wall Street Journal.

Here are the top two books JC Parets recommends reading for technical analysis.
Technical Analysis of Stock Trends by (Edwards & Magee)
Technical Analysis of Financial Markets by John Murphy
The John Murphy book is a good place to start if you’re new to technical analysis. The Edwards & Magee book was published in the 1940s, making it more difficult to read.
He recommends reading both of them several times before progressing to other educational works.
These two books alone will put you in the top 1% of technical analysis investors. That’s a big edge if you ask me.
Steve Nison: Candlesticks
Then Parets suggests brushing up on your Candlesticks.
With his legendary expertise, Steve Nison will take care of that for you with his famous book called Japanese Candlestick Charting Techniques.
This book is essential if you want to be a top technical analyst. It’s hard to find someone who doesn’t recommend this book.
