This review was written by a friend of mine, Mark, who is testing out a ton of different newsletters and services.
So, enough from me! Here is Mark’s review.
Why review stock newsletters?
One of my relatives asked me to invest $17,000 for her. I promptly lost 50% of her money — which is why I do more research now! My goal is to make smarter investments (and maybe help you too).
I try to write informative, honest, unbiased reviews. I am not paid by any financial company, and I purchase subscriptions with my own money.

Real Subscriber Review: The George Gilder Report Reviewed
As a paid subscriber, here is my evaluation of The George Gilder Report.
Why subscribe to The George Gilder Report?
Gilder has a knack for accurately predicting profitable technology trends before they happen. He has a substantial network of contacts in Silicon Valley, and he has carefully monitored technology companies for many years.
He started this monthly newsletter in 2019 to track technology trends — and this singular focus is a strength of Gilder’s. This newsletter won’t win any Pulitzer prizes for outstanding journalism, however, Gilder’s eye for a good investment translates into a lot of profitable stock recommendations.
Future subscribers are likely to profit far more than $49/year from The George Gilder Report.
What is the investment strategy of The George Gilder Report?
The George Gilder Report is dedicated to discovering little-known investment opportunities tied to emerging technology trends — what Gilder calls the coming “Cryptocosm,” a radical reboot of the internet.
Gilder says, “In each issue, I’ll show you the best ways to profit from tomorrow’s tech trends, including the coming shift to artificial intelligence, driverless cars, upgraded wireless networks, virtual reality, blockchain applications, and more.”
Gilder recommends buying and holding emerging stocks as long as desired to achieve the results you want. Because these investments are in “emerging technology trends” it makes sense to ride the rise of the stock (always keeping in mind the downside risks).
What is the ‘Cryptocosm’ and why is it important for investors?
George Gilder says, “I’ve used the term ‘Cryptocosm’ to describe this radical paradigm shift we’re about to witness. I want to share a bit more about what that means today. But before I do, I should start with why the internet even needs to be restructured. After all, you might think that it’s working just fine. It’s not. For one main reason — the current internet infrastructure was built for a simple purpose — sharing information. But as you know, the internet is now used for much more than sharing ideas. We send money. We login into bank accounts. We enter our social security numbers. We make video conference calls with colleagues.
The problem is, the infrastructure of the internet hasn’t been upgraded since its inception. We all know the result — a cybersecurity nightmare. There were a billion breaches on the internet last year. Chances are, you’ve had to replace credit cards, switch accounts, and deal with any other collateral damage. That’s because the true burden falls on the consumer. Of course, the various vendors don’t like when this happens. But it’s only an inconvenience for them. They know that you’ll come crawling back once the dust settles. So there’s no incentive for these companies to adapt. But that will soon change, thanks to a new technology that’s creating an explosion of new possibilities for advancement.
I’m talking about the blockchain. Decentralization is key to a secure experience. Most people associate blockchain with bitcoin. But it’s much more than that. It’s a ledger that distributes all the personal information across the network, just as human intelligence is distributed across the world. It’s not agglomerated in giant data clumps. It provides a timestamped, immutable record of all the transactions that have occurred in a particular arena. And here’s why that’s a major breakthrough for security — the record is distributed in an ingeniously compressed mathematical “hash” to every node in the network. In other words, it’s decentralized. And that is absolutely key to why blockchain will be the foundation for the Internet Reboot.”
How is The George Gilder Report stock portfolio performing?
Extremely well! The Gilder portfolio currently contains 21 stocks in the portfolio including companies in the following sectors — semiconductors, cloud storage, Lidar technology, the Internet of Things, consumer electronic manufacturers, and media corporations.
The full list of stocks in the Gilder Portfolio is accessible to subscribers only, however, an impressive 20 of 21 stocks are currently profitable with the best performing stock gaining +210.95%. The only underperforming stock has a modest loss of -0.43%.
Conclusions: Is The George Gilder Report worth the $49 subscription fee?
Yes. $49 seems like a small price to pay for interesting articles about intriguing companies. One profitable investment easily pays for a subscription.
Personally, I invested in two of the stocks in the portfolio, held each of them for a few months, and sold them for a profit. Additionally, I plan to invest in two more stocks as part of a small investment account where I hold rising stocks for three to four years.
George Gilder is on top of current trends, does excellent research, understands emerging technology, and offers his opinion in a reasonably priced, direct, no-frills manner. At a minimum you might give The George Gilder Report a free six month test-drive to see what you think.
Final Grade — A
I actually enjoy reading this newsletter (even if the writing isn’t as clever as a newsletter like Disruption Investor). If you are looking for interesting tech companies, pay your $49, and enjoy your subscription. You might even make a little money in the process!
