Ape Hunter is a great new service from Raging Bull. It’s a strategy and alerts service that can help you find exciting stocks that are primed to undergo a giant short squeeze.
If you can find these stocks early with Ape Hunter – you have a good chance of making some big profits with minimal risk.
The service has many different parts. Here is what you get:
- Jeff’s Watch list of top 5 stocks ready to short squeeze. This comes out every Friday at around 2pm EST.
- Real-time alerts via email and the RagingBull App.
- Access to the Ape Hunter Scanner.
- Jungle Room. This is the chat room for the service.
- Video Lesson library.

Jeff has been trading for over a decade. He specializes in small cap stocks using technical analysis.
He works with Jeff Bishop and Jason Bond at RagingBull.com. Both of these guys run excellent alerts services for options and stocks.
He is considered to be one of the most transparent educators and trades at Raging Bull.

Jeff Williams Ape Hunter Review: Scanner
This is a scanner that you get access to as a member of Ape Hunter. It refreshes every 30 mins or so.
The scanner updates every hour at the moment. It’s a little bit different from a regular stock scanner – it’s a social media buzz scanner. It picks up how the social buzz around a stock is changing over time.
Jeff looks for big changes over the last 24 hours (example screenshot of the scanner is shown below). The yellow box shows this column for the stocks with the biggest increase in social buzz in the last 24 hours.
This scanner is a great way to get some trade ideas. It’s not like if the mentions of $GME go up 243% in 24 hours then it is an automatic trade.
No, it’s more of a starting point for finding a trade. It’s a good alarm to pull the stock up but it is not an automatic buy.
Other criteria have to be met – is the chart starting to move up, is there increased volume etc.?
At the time of writing this the scanner is still in its infancy but Jeff Williams is working on it. It allows Jeff to find great trades early on.
Jeff Williams Ape Hunter Review: Watch List
After the scanner pulls up a stock based on social media buzz you can start using the other ‘ingredients’ to build your own watch list.
Jeff’s watch list comes out every Friday afternoon around 2pm EST. Jeff also goes LIVE in the chat room during that time.
Jeff does this work for you in Ape Hunter, but you can also use the scanner to make your own watch list.
The next step Jeff does is to check to see if there is a good short interest in the stock. There could be a lot of talk about a stock on the scanner but if there isn’t the possibility for a short squeeze – it won’t make the list.
Jeff uses Finviz.com to check out all the other requirements to make the list. He looks at the number of shares in the float, how many are being shorted (typically he wants more than 15%).
He also looks at moving average breaks for entries based on technical analysis. The whole idea is to look to get into a short squeeze and play the stock to the upside.

Ape Hunter 5 Point Checklist:

Previous big mover and social media “buzz” picking up.

Possible short-term catalyst.
-
Smaller size “float” meaning the number of shares that the public can trade on the company.
-
Decent size short float, meaning how many shares traders are shorting or betting against hoping the stock goes down.
-
A big juicy pullback from a large recent run, which could suck in a lot of shorts for a possible “short squeeze.”
Please remember, the “Watch list” does not mean Jeff will automatically buy these stocks. These are stocks he will continue to watch to check more boxes from the above list.

Example Watch List for Ape Hunter
BYND is starting to curl off its base on the daily chart as you can see below. This is starting to look like a “consolidation breakout” setup. Now, the key for me is to start pushing toward $16 level. If this starts to happen, I will watch the scanner to see if BYND starts to pick up social media mentions and buzz. Combine those two events along with a 40% “short float” and I think BYND could be a possible squeeze setup toward $20 with a stop around $12.
AI is another stock that is starting to show signs.
First off, AI is on the Ape Hunter Scanner showing a 59% jump in social media mentions over the last 24 hours.
Second, AI has a 11.5% short float.
Third, this is another example of “consolidation into breakout” setup showing on the daily chart.
These are my Top 2 for today, just one day into Ape Hunter. Normally I will have my Top 5 but we will focus on these two to close our first week.

Jeff Williams Ape Hunter Review: Conclusions
I really like this new service. I think it is very fairly priced. The launch price is only $483 for a year but this of course is likely to increase over time.
The scanner is useful and having Jeff’s expert eye on the potential trades, alerting any that have particular appeal via his watch list and real-time alerts is great.
